This page was created for music teachers to find out more information about the VIRTUAL MUSIC ROOM and the community I am currently building. As of now, the Facebook Community is growing at a fast rate daily and has become an important resource for many music educators worldwide.
To help support the nation’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, I created the community ‘VIRTUAL MUSIC ROOM’ to help music educators globally learn the online technology tools and best practices to adapt their teaching methods to online music lessons.
This THINKTANK group is focused on a wide-range of Music Technology subjects:

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝗲: I’ve been incorporating technology into piano lessons since I started teaching 15 years ago. I’ve been using music technology for over 20 years, as I’ve always had a thing for synthesizers, computers, recording, etc.
𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: I’ve been teaching online for over 10 years now (back to the early days of Skype) and have experimented with just about every environment possible.
I made the transition from Full-Time In-Studio lessons to Full-Time Virtual piano instruction about a year and a half ago. Prior to the move, I had been running a thriving music teaching studio near Dallas, TX called Musical Accents for over 10 years. During my current virtual music lessons, I incorporate the Zoom conference app with students and use optimal technology along with additional interactive tools to remove the distance from our online lessons. The live lessons are recorded and lesson notes are stored in a customized Digital Learning Hub. All files related to lessons can be easily accessed through one efficient technological system.
My mission with the Virtual Music Room is to help fellow music teachers keep their businesses and help the industry of music teaching stay afloat. I’ve worked with all types of private teachers, school administrators, college department heads, owners of music schools around the world. The Virtual Music Room community has become an incredible team effort to help each other. Teachers that were just starting a few weeks ago with no idea on how to teach online are now teaching other teachers within the group how to do things.
Many teachers have now found that online methods reduced the mess from people coming to their homes and are now able to provide even better instruction due to all the technological resources at their disposal.
